◆Under different material combinations, different barrier properties, and different storage environments, the taste and color state of vacuum-preserved corn are completely different. That is to say, after sterilization of packaging materials with different material combinations and different barrier properties, the freshness performance and shelf life are completely different! Because of this, the quality of corn packaging on the market is now uneven, and many quality problems have arisen, mainly including the following aspects:
a. The same variety has different tastes.
b. The bag swelling and rancidity are serious.
c. High damage rate and mildew spots.
d. The color of vacuum corn is poor.
e. "Oxygen odor" problem, etc.
Currently material structure
a. Vacuum flexible packaging (high barrier PA/PA/RCPP, HG-PA/PA/RCPP, PA/PA/RCPP, imported high barrier PET/PA/RCPP)
b. Alumina packaging (ALOX/PA/RCPP)
c. Pure aluminum packaging (PET/AL/PA/RCPP)
◆Different material structure have their own advantages and disadvantages. Let’s analyze them one by one:
(1) Ultra-high barrier performance, effectively preventing the product's own fragrance from dissipating and preventing the product from producing "oxygen odor" due to factors such as temperature and time.
(2) High temperature resistance and can be sterilized at 121°C.
(3) Excellent fatigue toughness and low breakage rate.
(4) Environmentally friendly material, recyclable and reusable.
(5) Effectively solve the browning problem of contents.
(6) It is one of the special materials for corn packaging.
Disadvantages: The cost is slightly higher, and the price is 4 to 5 times higher than ordinary nylon, which mainly tests the acceptance of end customers.
(1) Ultra-high barrier performance, effectively preventing the product's own fragrance from dissipating, or causing the product to produce "oxygen odor" due to factors such as temperature and time.
(2) It has anti-ultraviolet function to prevent sweet corn from darkening due to sunlight radiation and high temperature sterilization process.
(3) High temperature resistance and can be sterilized at 120~130℃.
(4) Excellent fatigue toughness and low breakage rate.
(5) Environmentally friendly materials.
Disadvantages: high cost, the price is about 7 times higher than ordinary nylon, market supply is tight, and the supply cycle is long.
Although the cost of corn packaging bags produced by ordinary nylon is low, the barrier properties are low, resulting in a short shelf life of the product, and the color of the corn will change after high-temperature cooking. Moreover, the unique aroma of the product will be lost quickly, affecting the taste of the corn itself and reducing the added value of the content.
This product has high barrier properties and is also a kind of transparent packaging bag. It is an environmentally friendly material. However, compared with PA packaging, its toughness, softness and puncture resistance are relatively poor. It is prone to bag swelling, serious rancidity, high breakage rate, and Mildew spots and "oxygen odor" problems.
Aluminum oxide film is a new packaging material with high transparency, good barrier properties, excellent atmospheric environment adaptability, high microwave penetration and environmental protection. The base film used in corn packaging is mainly PET. Therefore, like high-barrier imported PET, its toughness and softness are relatively poor compared to nylon. It is also prone to bag swelling, serious rancidity, high breakage rate, and mold spots. and the "oxygen odor" problem.
The biggest advantage of this product is its excellent light protection and high barrier properties, but aluminum foil bags have the disadvantages of prone to pinholes, broken bags and invisible contents. As people's awareness of food safety increases, products with visible contents can give customers a greater sense of security. The most important problem is that aluminum foil composite packaging is not recyclable and is not an environmentally friendly packaging product. The composite processing performance of aluminum foil is also poor, and it is prone to wrinkles and fractures, which affects the barrier properties of aluminum foil. The packaging cost is relatively high and consumes more resources.
❖In summary, after comprehensive comparison, the advantages of high-barrier coated PA materials are obvious.
In addition to good oxygen and odor barrier properties, high-barrier coated PA also has good chemical stability and is suitable for high-temperature sterilization of corn packaging. In the field of packaging with increasingly higher barrier requirements, the performance of ordinary substrates (such as BOPA, BOPET, especially BOPP, CPP, PE and other films) cannot meet the needs of customers. By coating these film substrates High-barrier polymer materials can improve the barrier properties of the base film, even by dozens to thousands of times.
